Why We're Excited: It's the end of SaW3D legacy! Right? In truth, we will bid a fond farewell to Jigsaw and his legacy, an institution built on scrappy filmmaking, iconic poster art, and direct interaction with its fans.
Why We're Not: Not even the return of Cary Elwes inspired us to Netflix the last two Saw installments. Like a long-running but past-its-prime TV show, the further away co-creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell became, the less drawn we were to the saga of SaW3D.
Trivia: Kevin Greutert, who edited the first 5 chapters and directed the 6th, was hired by Paramount to helm Paranormal Activity 2, until Lionsgate enforced his contractual obligation to the franchise and he returned to the director's chair of SaW3D.
